Large abstract modernist sculpture in chestnut wood. Height 212cm. Provenance fond d'atelier of Roland LAVIANNE (1948-2022). This collection was acquired in collaboration with @igmarstuer (Aalst - Belgium) and @pschantiques (marché Paul Bert , Paris Saint-Ouen) We present here one of the two largest sculptures from his workshop. Simplifying forms to the extreme, Roland LAVIANNE develops a powerful play of volumes, shapes and lines, using light as a building material. Roland LAVIANNE translates a real mastery of the balance of volumes and lines of force, the characters, motionless and dynamic, seem to weave a theatrical conversation forever suspended.

Exceptional chestnut wood statue from the workshop of the Belgian sculptor Roland LAVIANNE (1948-2022). Height .... cm. Anthropomorphic sculpture representing a figure carved in the natural forms of wood, his arms long-drawn along the body , chest and torso in relief , his head directed downwards to the timeless expression. We present here one of the two largest sculptures from his workshop.

A Burkina Faso ceremonial antilope mask, wood with traces of white, yellow and red paint. Beautiful weathered with some damage due to age (visible on the photographs). Mounted on a modern custom made metal stand. Age 1950' s and sourced in Paris from a private collection.
